Wednesday, March 21st, 2007It’s been slightly more than 2 weeks since I started working at Caffe 1920 as service attendant. Meeting new ppl (customers) is a norm and gosh I am really enjoying every experience I am gaining so far. I have customer who came up to me just to tell me "I like u, I think u are really sweet". Awww…that really made my day. There are also customers who tried to talk to me and wanted to know my name etc. It’s flattering, especially if the customers are good looking. Haha. But hey, things are not always nice, I’ve encountered customers who havent even made an order but already give me that sour face. What on earth! Nonetheless, I always make a point to smile no matter what, that’s one of the main requirements of this job!
Saturday night is one of the craziest time of the week where customers come in non stop. I could hear "Excuse me, can I have tobasco", "Bill please", "Where’s my food, I’ve ordered so long ago", "excuse me, can I place my order" …..excuse me, excuse me and more excuse me’s…..arrghh…quite stressful.
During weekdays, there arent many customers, sometimes I went into the kitchen to see how the chef and kitchen staffs cook some italian meal. Quite cool eh. And to all my colleagues in Caffe 1920, I am really having a blast with u guys. INitially I thought I will be all alone and just stand at one corner to kill my time rather than sitting alone at home and rot. My last day at Caffe 1920 will be on the 1st of April cos I will be starting my REAL engineering job a week after that. Weni, Irta, AJ, thanks for teaching me so much. Octa, Defri, Ajib, Suhaimi…thanks for cooking nice food for me when I was hungry. Haha. Of course not to forget the guy who only managed to work with me 3 days, Tanu..thanks to u too.
Hope we will all still keep in touch no matter where we are later on. And did I mention, the supervisor and owner of this Caffe are really nice ppl, very humble and understanding. I will definitely eat here even after I am no longer a staff!
